PROJECT BRIEF
Create and develop a motio title sequnace from a movie of our choice and exploring the concept through videography and motion design.MY VISION
Drawing inspiration from Bong Joon Ho's award-winning film Parasite, this title sequence weaves together themes of social hierarchy, recurring tension, and class divides. The deliberate, rhythmic typography and visuals reflect subtle shifts in power and space, while the color temperature and architectural textures tell the story of the family’s socioeconomic standing. This narrative unfolds through a progression of settings, evolving from basic, rough scenery to more natural and beautiful environments. Shot against the atmospheric backdrops of Cranbrook Art School and the Science Museum, the sequence captures the creeping unease and underlying dynamics that define the film's narrative. The increasing speed throughout the sequence mirrors the storyline’s progression—from calm and composed typography at the start to chaotic energy by the end—perfectly echoing the tension and rhythm of the movie.FINAL VIDEO

ANIMATIC

My partner and I began the project by each selecting a set of three movies. Eventually, we each narrowed it down to one—my choice was Parasite, while my partner selected Gossip Girl. We took the time to watch each other's selections and had an in-depth discussion about which felt more compelling for the project. Alongside this, we conducted additional research to support our decision.
After the decision was made we move on into reserch every little detail about the movie as well of course as making a very detail moodboard of the colorgrading, tyopgrahy used in Parasite as well as little details of the movie such as thier use of panning, cuts and trasitions, potential grid systems and elements presented in the movie that potentially could be used in the title sequance.
After completing our research, we created a rough timeline to outline what could fit into a two-minute title sequence, including elements like actor and director credits. We planned this visually and through sketches to ensure a cohesive flow.
Taking on the responsibility for video production, I began by scouting potential locations and ultimately chose Cranbrook and my Sound Design Professor’s studio. Once the locations were secured, we started filming, color grading, and editing the video to the track "Zappaguri" by Jung Jae-il from the Parasite original soundtrack.
